People often forget that Chicago, IL. is the birthplace of gospel music.  The soulfulness and emotion that gospel music provides will lead many to think of the south; however, the genre was created on the Southside of the “Windy City.”  It shouldn’t come as a surprise then that many talented artists have come from and are currently in the great city of Chicago.

People often forget that Chicago, IL. is the birthplace of gospel music.  The soulfulness and emotion that gospel music provides will lead many to think of the south; however the genre was created on the Southside of the “Windy City.”  It shouldn’t come as a surprise then that many talented artists have come from and are currently in the great city of Chicago.

Stellar Award winning and Grammy nominated gospel artist Mark Hubbard has been sharing his love for music through ministry for the majority of his life.  From having an interest in directing a choir at the age of 8 to organizing and forming The United Voices of Christ, better known as The Voices, at the age of 19.  Staying true to his faith and knowing his gift as a young man, Mark has set the local gospel music scene ablaze throughout Chicago and now worldwide.

With the release of great classics such as “Blessin’ Waitin’ on Me” and “He’s Up There,” Mark has enjoyed a career that has spanned 3 decades.  He is still putting out great music with his most recent releases, “Aint It A Wonda,” “For My Good” and the latest “Faith Fail Not.”  He has not only impacted the sound of gospel music, but he revolutionized the way choirs were directed by bringing his own unorthodox style to the stage.

Mark Hubbard will be attending the Stellar Awards in March and has a tour planned for the spring, beginning in April.  Mark has also served on the Chicago Chapter of the Grammy’s Board for 9 years and will be running for President this year.  With performances from Chicago to Shanghai, China, Mark Hubbard is an artist you should know.

The Mark Hubbard radio show is on every Monday and Thursday from 8pm to 10pm CST via the Tunein app on their mobile devices.
