Legacy Conference 2016
Legacy Conference is back and ready to celebrate their 10th year!! This year’s featured artists and speakers include Andy Mineo, Trip Lee, Thabiti Anyabwile, Jackie Hill Perry, Propaganda, Thi’sl and many more! You don’t want to miss it!
Based in Chicago, IL The Legacy Conference carries the goal to equip the urban church to make disciples. Being called to be on mission for God, particularly in the urban context, can be tough and sometimes discouraging. The founders of this conference saw the variety of challenges that come with being a Christian leader within this context and decided to create an answer to the challenge. For the last 10 years, their focus has been to provide resources, wisdom, and encouragement to others who carry the mission of creating disciples within the urban context.
“What have we been called to pour our lives out for? What is our mission? Furthermore, how do we do that in increasingly challenging environments? Missio Dei is Latin for “The mission of God”. We, the people of God, have been called to be on the mission of God in making disciples of all nations. Legacy Conference 2016 seeks to equip Christian leaders in the urban context to do just that.”
Legacy Conference highlights several high energy Hip Hop concerts along with a major poetry event called “Story Tellers” – Previously featured artists include Lecrae, KB, Shai Lynne, Tedashii, Swoope, Blair Lynne, Jackie Hill Perry, Ezekiel, Janette-ikz, Preston Perry, Itohan Omolere, Micah Bournes and many more!
Although this conference has become known for high energy Christian Hip Hop concerts and a celebration of the arts, the heart of the conference is found in it’s teaching. There are over 80 workshops available for attendees to choose from focusing on topics such as leadership, preaching, marriage, spiritual disciplines, justice, racial reconciliation, prison outreach, missions, parenting, and more! All courses are taught by well-equipped and known leaders in the church around the country, who all serve at the conference free of charge because they believe in the mission.
