Michelle Williams Is Officially Engaged to Pastor Chad Johnson

Michelle Williams and her fiance Chad Johnson recently released the news that they are officially engaged!  The two met in 2017 and have been inseparable ever since!  The couple has secretly been engaged since March, but finally decided to share the news with the world! “We could not contain this any longer!” Williams says of finally sharing the happy news.

Michelle, who is now 37, told People Magazine that she met her fiance Chad who is 40 at a spiritual retreat called “Elevate International” during a time when she was in a really dark place.  She was recently out of a bad relationship and attended the retreat looking for space to heal. “I just needed to go somewhere where I could get a message of hope and restoration, rejuvenation — get connected to God,” says Michelle.  Chad was in a similar space, but had actually given up on dating during this time.

According to Michelle, the two hit it off right away, but kept focused on the retreat rather than on each other.  Michelle stated, “I mean, he was cute,” the singer admits, “but I did not go to flirt with the pastor!”  After the retreat ended, they parted ways but kept in touch.  It was a friend of Chad’s who later encouraged him to pursue Williams.  Looking at the two of them now, it looks like it was a pretty good idea!

The two started communicating more as friends, then dating long distance while he was traveling for work with the Steelers where he serves as a chaplain.  Why did they keep it a secret?  We can’t say for sure.  But, Michelle did give a little insight into that in this quote…  “I didn’t even tell any people I was talking to Chad. I wanted to treat this relationship differently because obviously all my past relationships have failed. I didn’t want to talk about another relationship that possibly wasn’t gonna go anywhere,” says the singer.  She didn’t start to introduce him to friends — including fellow former Destiny’s Child members Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland — until July of 2017.  After one year of courting long-distance, the two have now officially made their love known to the world!  The two are planning to have a very short engagement and will be getting married this summer.

Michelle gives these words of encouragement to singles:

“Don’t lose hope in love,” says Williams. “I do think you should not focus so much that if you’re not in love that you get depressed about it. I was in a place where I was like, I’m just going to focus on my career and my family and just keep it moving.  I started taking myself out; I started traveling by myself, to the point where I loved being by myself.”

“Just don’t lose hope. But definitely be doing what you can do to make yourself a better person for the person that possibly is on the way for the way for you.”

During a new segment of the show, Zozibini gave a closing speech where she spoke of wanting to empower young women to feel confident.

“I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me — with my kind of skin and my kind of hair — was never considered to be beautiful,” she said in her last response. “I think it is time that that stops today. I want children to look at me and see my face and I want them to see their faces reflected in mine.”

Her speech received strong applause from the audience.

Yvonne Orji Lands Book Deal For New Faith Based Advice Book “Bamboozled By Jesus”

Yvonne Orji is a Nigerian-American actress, comedienne and writer who is best known as one of the stars of HBO’s critically acclaimed comedy series Insecure. She made her feature film debut in September of 2018 as apart of the film Universal’s Night School alongside Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. She is also the co-host of the podcast Jesus & Jollof alongside Luvvie Ajayi.

Most recently, she landed a book deal for her new book which is a faith-based advice book titled “Bamboozled by Jesus”. In this book, she uses a modern-day Biblical blueprint to candidly and humorously share the twists and turns that led her to success—and to inspire and empower readers to live their best lives. Yvonne Orji has never shied away from being unapologetically herself, and that includes being outspoken about her faith.

Because of that, she is often questioned about how she navigates her career when playing roles that are sometimes polar opposite to who she is and what she believes. Yvonne doesn’t hold back with her responses to those questions. In an interview with NBC, we see her speaking up quickly but each time unashamedly holding on to her faith while explaining how she believes her faith has directed her in this pathway and how she’s currently making it work.

A distinguished stand-up comedian, Yvonne has opened for Chris Rock on various stops on his Total Blackout Tour. Yvonne is also known for her inspiring TED Talk, in which she discusses factors that make for a healthy relationship.
