Shortly after the release of her new album Crescendo in May, and the birth of her second child, Jackie Hill Perry announces another upcoming release–her first book!

Jackie Hill Perry, Gay Girl Good God book, ex gay, ex lesbian, Jackie Hill testimony

In “Gay Girl, Good God,” Jackie shares her own story, offering practical tools that helped her in the process of finding wholeness. She addresess growing up fatherless, experiencing gender confusion, and her former lifestyle in homosexuality, drug (marijuana) abuse and pornography addiction.

“This book is my story but more importantly, it is the telling of the goodness of God. His hand has never and will never be too short to save…Issa fact,” Hill Perry shared on the book announcement via her Instagram page last week.

Jackie Hill Perry has not shied away from sharing her testimony in her spoken word poetry,  on social media, through teachings and on news outlets:

“At age 19, Jackie came face-to-face with what it meant to be made new. And not in a church, or through contact with Christians—God broke in and turned her heart towards Him right in her own bedroom in light of His gospel.”

This book announcement is timely. The United States collectively acknowledges and celebrates  PRIDE Month in June, referencing those who identify with the LGBTQ+ community. Hill Perry assures that her works are not to condemn anyone, but to bring God’s unfiltered truth to the conversation around faith, homosexuality and wholeness.

“Read in order to understand. Read in order to hope. Or read in order, like Jackie, to be made new.”

“Gay Girl, Good God” is set to release in September 3rd, but if you are one of the first 5,000 to pre-order, you will receive a free audio book version!

Jackie Hill Perry will be at this year’s Legacy Conference in Chicago from July 19th-21st. You can also stream or purchase her album, Crescendo, available everywhere.

Food Critic & Influencer Keith Lee Gives 50K to Local Restaurant

Boston, MA—Toast (NYSE: TOST) and acclaimed food critic, Keith Lee, are joining forces to celebrate extraordinary restaurants and the little details that make them special. Beginning today, Toast and Lee will surprise the first of three restaurants with $50,000 each over the next few weeks.

Based on three categories, Commitment to Hospitality, Community Connection, Employee Care and Engagement, Keith has selected the first two restaurants. Toast and Keith Lee will also select a third restaurant based on submissions entered on social media, awarding a final $50,000 cash prize to one restaurant — and $25,000 to the individual that nominates them.

“As guests, we often see only what arrives on the plate, while restaurants orchestrate a complex symphony of details — from ingredients to atmosphere to staff choreography, and more – to make for amazing dining experiences,” said Kelly Esten, Chief Marketing Officer at Toast. “Like Toast, Keith Lee recognizes that it’s those little things that often set restaurants apart, not big marketing budgets or big name chefs. We’re delighted to work with him — and invite our community on social media to do so as well — to recognize some truly special businesses.”

“Getting a 10 out of 10 in my book is about more than the taste of the food alone — it’s also about the energy when walking in the door, the way food might be packaged, or how the server made me feel when I ordered,” said Lee. “I’ve made a career highlighting the way these details come together to make for great meals, and I’m thrilled to work with Toast to celebrate just a few of the people in our big, broad restaurant community who make it happen.”
