ABOUT FAMILYHOOD MINISTRIES:
Familyhood Ministries is a non-profit organization founded by Rebecca Gutwen and Christian Hip Hop Artist and Mentor Milton Taylor (AKA “Brother 3”). The aim of this ministry is to restore hope in families and renew hurting communities by embracing and embodying God’s design for the family. Their belief is that becoming a healthy citizen begins with the family unit. However, many families and marriages today are often challenged by a lack of resources and/or support needed to be successful.
Familyhood Ministries highlights the following on their website:
“Many people simply do not have a cultural script for marriage. Too many fathers are uninvolved in the lives of their families; and mothers are overwhelmed from raising their children without support in the midst of many challenges. The lack of leadership and relational dissonance in the home creates a difficult environment for boys and girls to thrive. As children imitate their parents, this devastating pattern is cyclical.” – Familyhood Ministries Staff
Because of Rebecca and Milton Taylor’s strong passion for strengthening urban communities, they are currently directing their focus towards youth and families in the Woodlawn, IL area. Through partnerships with organizations like Raising Highly Capable Kids, and Cedar Lake Ministries, Familihood Ministries will now be joining in on their partner’s efforts of providing a 13 week curriculum to equip parents, teachers and communities with the tools needed to aid their children in becoming healthy, caring, and responsible family members and citizens. They also plan to host family retreats, ministry events and youth camps.

David Michael Wyatt is rightfully known as “The Velvet Voice”! He has most currently been known for singing on tour with Tobe Nwigwe where he has received praise from artists such as Beyonce, Erica Badu and more! But, now he’s making his own pathway as a solo artist.
On August 26th, the ArtSoul Radio team is partnering up with Aspire Booking to bring David to The Promontory in Hyde Park Chicago! This is the first in person event ArtSoul Radio has done since before the Pandemic and it has been an exciting experience for us to team up with Aspire Booking so our team can get our creative juices running again by helping to create this event for fans and taking on the full promotion for it. This is also the first time some of the featured local artists have performed live in Chicago since the start of the pandemic. Needless to say, we’re ALL excited to be back outside y’all!
